I'm about to ask something very stupid, and I realize this, but I'm about to get into putting a 200CI in a '66 or '65 mustang(Depends which one I decide to work on). The '65 has all the stock wiring and the motor mounts for an inline six. I understand basically how engines work, and the parts involved, and basically how EFI works and same with carburetors, Buuut....I've never had to deal with putting together an engine with a dizzy and a carb myself, I'll have some help but I wanted to get an idea of what I was doing, how it was going to work and if my dizzy and carb will be fine together. The carb is a little stock one-barrel off a 200 and the dizzy came off the same 200(If memory serves) but I wanted to know if I could just run with it and a C4 or if I was going to have to get an ignition box I believe it's called, or if it's mechanically done. I'm not sure if the dizzy is stock or not but I assume it is since the carb was stock and everything looked good spare the worn dizzy gear. Before everything happens I have to go over and do a leakdown test on one 200 to see what shape it's in.
Thinking about this logically and not knowing better, I'd think the dizzy is set in the proper place for the timing, and was mechanically spun by the engine to provide fire and the coil would provide the electric to fire each sparkplug, and the carb would have a few linkages here and there for the choke and throttle.

I really feel bad because I feel like I'm doing this backwards, being use-to Throttle-body fuel injection and going to carb I keep feeling there should be a little computer and emissions somewhere to throw a wrench into the clockwork
