FE "Van" oil pan?

Post by JGH »

Hello all!

I am installing a M-II front end and was told I needed a FE Van oil pan for the motor to clear the crossmember. Does anyone know where one could be had or even what the darn thing may look like so I could go to the junk yard and try to find one?

thanks

Yeah, you need to start cultivating new sources of information. There was never, EVER an FE in a Ford van from the factory. Whoever told you that is been smoking way too much. The only rear sump pans were on 4X4 trucks and they are pretty hard to find these days. You will need the pan, the pickup, a special main cap bolt that holds the pickup, the dipstick and tube and if you get lucky the plug that fills the original dipstick hole in the block (a blob of silicone will actually take care of that though!). An FE is a 352, 360, 390, 428 etc... and they all use the same pan. Hawkrod
