Some trucks have a sway bar that extends between the radius arms. If your truck has one like this, then headers won't fit. However, VERY few trucks actually have this style, so unless yours does, you'll be OK.

With an auxiliary tank you'll just have to either run both pipes down the passenger side, or have the driver's-side pipe outside the frame.

From http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/headers1.htm, Ford Powertrain Applicatios These are supposed to clear. Stan and I got off the subject.

Well, I can't tell you a lie ! We have made up to 605 HP on our 2 1/2" ball and socket Big Block headers ! Engine capable of power over 7000 revs made a "little" more power with an expanded 3" outlet after the header which we offer. Think of the collector as a venturi in the carb and you will see why it works. We off a HD Tri-y For your vehicle with the FE. We offer all 3 popular head bolt patterns also. 3/8" flanges , HD 16 Ga. 1 3/4" and 2 1/2ball and socket ( no gasket) collectors. With all hardware bare ( $495 ) in high heat ceramic coated $695 + $55 shipping. If you are interested you may have to leave a contact message as we are into our new Boss 429 header design this week and may have to return your call later in our day

Well, every cup engine in Nascar runs Tri-y's and they're up to 850 @ 9500 revs. Adams is certainly punishing his big bore FE @ 427 cubes but that's another story.

Hey, I am new to the site as of today. I have a 72 F100 and had recently purchased a set of hedders. I am having clearance issues with the passengers side. Too tight on the frame and hitting on the crossmember that goes to each side of the radius arm brackets. According to the vin, it is a F100 with a factory 302. Has anyone any idea?? Thanks.

The Vin is no help and what headers did you buy. If you bought 302 headers and someone had put in a 3651 Windsor the headers would have interference problems.

Just go to the header websites and ask them. Stick with real names. Hedman, Hooker Doug Thorley, FPA.

Also, it is a 302 not a 351.

Welcome fordboy302. You should be able to find headers to fit your truck with a stock 302 in it. Headman, Hooker and several other companies make then to fit. If it is a 351 then good luck as nobody made them to fit back a couple years ago when I had a 351W in my F100.
Might want to start your own thread, introduce yourself and explain in detail what you have going on so we can welcome you in the proper way
