screwed
workin on the old truck last week put in an ignition switch diferent instrument panel washed the seat cover cleaned the box the dash the floor boards that went well. Then i thought about doin the carb so i did cleaned it up nice and shiny cleaned the bowl the jets stuff like that. Put it all together reinstalled it ran the engine ran good then it locked up it would go only a little less than a full turn either way. turns out t here was a screw in the secondary throttle blades that fell in once it opened. Sumunabich i said i tore the heads off the first one was the wrong one the second one revealed a carb screw in the number 4 cylinder flattened to half its size no damage to the engine just an impression of a screw on the top of the piston. crazy but true got real lucky with that one first time that ever happened felt like a dumbbutt puttin it back together

if its fixed break it again red white and ford blue the only up hill thats good is the one you are going down

Re: screwed
Could be much worse. You should buff off any rough spots before assembly and make sure the intake and exhaust valves seal good.
