Removal of Passenger Side Exhaust Manifold Shield and Stack

I am removing the valve covers to check for bent push rods. How do you remove the passenger side heat sheild with the "stack" that goes to the air cleaner housing? :? Specifically can you just remove the "stack"?

You'll have to remove the nuts that attach the shield to the exhaust manifold.
