Rebuilding a 302.....70 F-100

Post by Johnson »

This is my summer project. Something for me and my boy to do together.

What I'm looking for is some manuals, because I'm going to use this as a "teaching" experience....I can tell him and show him, but if he can read about it also I think that will help.

So what's the best manual for a 302 rebuild? I've looked around and see many, but maybe one of you has some first hand with one.

Thanks

He doesn't know it yet, but this will be his truck for the next year or so..... :D

Also, have any of you taken a 302 from a junked Mustang? I'm wondering how much a fuel injected motor would cost me, along with the computer.

It is hard to beat the original Ford Technical manuals. They come in sets for each year and model of vehicle. There is an electrical, body, Chassis, engine, and a couple others in the set.
I try and get a set for each of my cars and trucks when I get a new one
Good luck and have fun. Nice father son project. Hope you can keep him interested.

I have that one too, and agree it is a good info source.
But I started out with this one many moons ago:

"Uncle Chiltons" has taught me a lot and still reference the book some 20 years later.
