Good day Big Blue 72!

My preference is for the light Ford blue. This would have been a great "vote" application, to visually track all the responses!

My 67 Mustang 390 was dark blue, I pulled a 67 352 from a truck and it was a lighter shade of blue about like the one above. The Color I use now is not as dark as my Mustang but it is Dupli Color Dark Blue.

There are at least 3 versions of "Ford Blue". The problem is all of the companies call them different names.

Between dark or light blue, I'd go with dark blue. However, I personally prefer black engine blocks.

I only Blacken the racers. They shed heat faster. Paint the tops of the pistons White and the combustion chambers white to hold more heat in the chambers. Don't really know if it works because I never baseline tested the engine then tested it after. The paint stayed though VHT High Temp White. It was a theory in a 1975 Hot Rod Mag. On the street Dark Blue as I said before.

The '68 I had was black... until I power washed it and found some blue underneath!

I've seen 3 colors at the parts store. Old Ford Blue (dark)New Ford Blue(Lighter but, more a medium blue) and Ford Gray.

The gray is what I used on the 35 chevy block. heh.
