Re: burnt exhaust valve what is it?
my problem is i only have room for abotu 12 inches of pipe straight down and towards the back. thent he driveshaft is right under that. it needs ot curve over towards the enigne before it can drop down at all. it snowed here today so i stayed home. im not sure i can hom make one. it just doesnt seem possible. it need to drop abotu 2 inches down and then turn towards the enigne at a 45 from there and then down alittle then over towards the passenger side then if it goes that way it will have to go forward on the passenger side then curve 180 then into the passenger exhaust. it is really messed up looking under there. i might have better luck running it towards the inner fender but the steering box is over there. it is just too cold to be really beating the blank out of something and forcing it to work. and then gettign mad and trashing it because it didnt work anyway.

As was already said if you have atleast 3 foot of pipe on each manifold it won't cause a problem.I have also hear that if it is really cold out that it is more likely to happen if your not running any pipe at all.

i do not have 3 foot of pipe. and no room to put any pipe. i have about 8-10 inches hanging off the manifold and it stops at the driveshaft right now.

Re: burnt exhaust valve what is it?
My tractor still had a good 5 foot of pipe on it. Still burned a valve.
Who knows. . . .

Re: burnt exhaust valve what is it?
another cause of burnt valve would be an engine that has been sitting for a period of time.
Open valves will form rust pits on the valve and/or seats. Then once the engine is restarted burning gasses are forced past the pits createing a leak, which will continually get bigger.
Just something to think about when you go and rescue that truck thats been sitting in a field for a period of time.
