Streetmaster Intake Installation Guide

Post by DGrant09 »

The Streetmaster intake arrived from NM today and I have been looking for instructions for the installation, manifold bolts, and gaskets.
Would someone have a lead on this information?
Thanks

Same everything as the FE manifold except the register pin at the front of the block will need to be removed unless you have the luck of getting one of the few that had the hole drilled for the pin. Torque twice 20 around the pattern then no more than 32 lbs. Center 2 bolts next 2 towards the front then next towards the back then the front 2 and then the rear 2.

After the gaskets are glued down but extra glue/sealer/silicone at the corners of the intake. Before the first bolts are put in drop the dizzy in. then install the 2 center most bolts to 20 lbs then remove the dizzy and do the rest in the above pattern.

It does not look like I was lucky with that pin.. I was certain for some unknown reason) I'd have to get Edelbrock hardware. Do they also use the cork on the ends of the manifold? This is what I messed up putting the old one on during the rebuild, aft left corner is leaking pretty good..

I figure I'll do this at the same time we check/replace the timing chain..

Thanks again,

One last Question - Can you send some Guardunos up this way! We sure miss the food there in NM!!

make sure when you put the intake on to silicone the corners. the surfaces have to be completely clean of oily substances for the silicone to seal it up.

We'll run over the surfaces with emory cloth followed by a rag and brake or carb cleaner. Remembering back we had used RTV, about a 1/4 inch ball where the manifold, head and block met..
Great tips, I'll be quite happy to stop this leak!

We'll cut our secret for the Gardunos!

It actually came off the east coast. They only ship UPS which would have been near the cost of the manifold to get it here. When this happens I ship

it to my parents in Los Lunas and they forward it to me with USPS. Quite a painful circle, this is the second time I have done this.. What was

frustrating was I was in ABQ and saw my parents on the 30th. The manifold arrived about 2 hours after I left.

What's all this 'Gardunos' stuff? If it's food than cut it out. I'm getting hungry.
