Cam bearing question

Post by OldRedFord »

When removing the huge honking cam from my 460 to put in a more streetable one, I left a small scratch on one of the cam bearings. Its not deep enough to catch a finger nail or hang on the edge of a penny. Hoping its not the end of the world.

You likely wont have any problems, but you know it is not a good thing or you wouldn't be asking. :shh:

If the scratch leads to the edge of the bearing, oil will be seeping thru it.

Clearances are pretty tight for oiling a bearing.

Put my vote down for "not the end of the world".
