Did our trucks have a catch can for coolant overflow?

my 72 doesnt.. it just has a hose that runs down the side of the radaitor that dumps to the ground.. i believe a 73 i owned and a 69 was the same way. i could be wrong though.

it was an option i think. maybe only on certain years. it is a rare item to find if you find one on one of these trucks. i do know that.

I added one to the left of the radiator from a parts vehicle. It keeps the radiator completely topped off instead of being an inch or so above the cores.

I don't think many light-duty trucks came with them, but the medium-duties (F600/850) had them. Since the radiator support is basically the same, many people just grab those and bolt them on. Here's what they look like:

i used a nos energy drink bottle as and overflow bottle it looks cool too

I used an old antifreeze jug.
Poke a hole in the cap slightly bigger than the hose so it can vent air.
I used a very thick zip tie to attach mine to the radiator support.
It looks ghetto but it works great.

Don't know what it is about this area but over the last twenty years I've lucked into 5 original jugs at the same wrecker, all on F100s -F250s. Never seen them anywhere else.
