newbie here with efi question
Hey all, just aquired a 70 2wd shortbox (love it by the way!) I'm looking to swap in an EFI 300 and m5r2 5 speed because it's gonna be my driver. Sooooo, my question is what problems am I gonna run into transferring a stock ecu and wiring harness? I'd like to ditch the air pump and other emissions equipment just to clean it up, but I don't know how a factory ford ecu will react to such changes. I've searched around but haven't been able to round up any answers, but I'm sure someone's done it. Thanks for a great website!

I have never done the swap but I would try and buy a doner truck to get everything off of. Then sell the remainder to get some of yourmoney back.
Try and get a mass air set up as they are supposed to be better but if you are not trying to hot rod it not sure it would matter.
Drive shaft will need some work probably. Get some engine perches off a 6 cylinder truck of your year frame,
There is a couple of other sites besides this great one that might also help. One is www.Fordefi.com or close to that.
I'll try and remember the other one butmy memory sucks. Someone else might know thhough.
You might have some aggrivation with the clutch set up if it is hydraulic but with enough help and tools anything is do-able, right?

Re: newbie here with efi question
I found a donor 93 f150 with the two mated together already, i can pull them as a unit and drop it in my truck, ecu, harness and all. I don't plan on modifying the engine at all. I don't know if a 93 is mass air or not, i'd have to look into it. You're right, I'll have to figure out the clutch master setup, cross that bridge when I get there I guess
