Was there ever a bump tank that had a return in the fuel tank? I am converting my 71 to port injected EFI and seem to remember some version I owned in the past had a return, or a vent tube that mounted under the rear window and went forward to an evap canister.
Although I could convert to a frame mounted tank, I am trying to avoid it, I would more likely drill the current tank and convert to 1/2 inch feed and return but if I could find a later bump tank that had both an in and out it'd be much easier
Second, if I were to convert and use an in tank pump, is the rubber cab plug still available to seal off the cab?
Thanks in advance

You may be referring to the "evaporative emission system" tanks from '71-'72. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... w-evap.jpg There was another version in 1970 but was more complicated and included some kind of reservoir in the cab pillar? http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... w-evap.jpg

Re: In cab fuel tank questions
Thanks, I decided to just poke another hole in the tank and use a pass through AN fitting.
My truck originally had the evap setup, but that tank is long gone, it's had an early tank in it since I put the 4x4 under it.
I appreciate the perfect answer with documentation and option to boot! Thanks!

Re: In cab fuel tank questions
Sorry I missed this earlier seems like you got it figured out.
Some folks have tapped the filler neck hose.
I tapped into the balance line between the neck and tank...
Check my thread and Whitts end build for ideas if you are still pondering.

Re: In cab fuel tank questions
Thanks, game plan right now is 1 of 2 things, depending on how the original pickup looks when I take it apart.
Option 1 - Add a pass through AN 6 AN bung to to the top for the return, probably with some sort of extension so I can't hear the fuel dribbling back in LOL
Option 2 - Eliminate the stock pickup and add two AN bungs, one with a new standpipe and pickup sock and the other as a return, if that is the case, will likely go 8 AN pickup to the pump, then 6 AN to EFI and back to tank. However, on my Mustang I did all 1/2 inch line so may go all 8 AN.
I found a local guy willing to do the tank work, in the old days I had no qualms to drill, weld or otherwise modify used tanks, but working in an attached garage in a middle class neighborhood I have decided that I may not want to spook anyone, and certainly don't want to do it with the door closed!
BTW, this is what it is feeding. 461 inch, ported D2s, CJ valves, flow just under 280 cfm, ported Victor, 280/286 230/236 .580 lift 112 LSA on 106, HFT, non-adjustable Lykins roller rockers, .041 quench, 9.7:1. Edelbrock EFI.
