390 Block

Post by Calvin Gunter »

I going to look at a 390 block this weekend on CL.What all do I need to look out for before going. The ad says it came out of a 68 galaxy, will it fit my truck mounts. Also the ad says it's a 390, what if it's a 352 or 360.Are all blocks the same? Can I make a 390 if I use my crank and rods?I eventually want to make it a 445 from Survival so all I need is the block but I want to make sure it's a 390 on standard bore before I buy it.The part number is C6ME in the picture and is standard bore for $100.00.Good deal or not?TIA,Calvin

If really from a 68 Galaxie would be 390, earlier years could be 352. which is smaller bore than 360/390. But that can still be bored to std. 390 bore.
$100 is reasonable..
