Electric fuel pump mounting location?
I am wanting some feedback on where to mount my electric fuel pump (holley blue)for my behind the axle under bed tank. Possibly some pics would be great. Im not sure to mount it close to the tank on the frame some place or mount it on the fire wall.

Electric pumps tend to push fuel better than they pull. I would mount it as close to the tank as practical.

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting location?
I have a fuel cell behind the rear axle, with a holley pump right in front of it, on the frame corssmember. I'd get a picture but i know the pump is now completely black from exhaust/mud/silt and really wouldnt show much.
edit...
So it is a good thing that i took a picture after installation
I quickly ditched the glass filter for obvious reasons, and no the axle is no where near hitting the pump.

Within about a foot of the tank is where I'd mount it. Electrics aren't usually great for pulling fuel up.

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting location?
I've got mine mounted on the outside of the frame as close to the tank as possible(I have a custom tank behind the rear axle under the bed). Of course, mine never goes off-road, otherwise it might be in a position slightly prone to damage. Mine is probably 3 feet or so from the tank, which isn't perfectly ideal, but it seems to work well.

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting location?
yeah i have only had one problem with the pump since mounting it there, and that was when i lost fuel going down the road. I jiggled the ground wire and off i went. I got home and i ground the frame clean and remounted the ground. So just make sure your ground is nice and clean.
I've never had a problem with it mounted there, and it sees nasty conditions (off-road racing).
