Suzy needs pipes...

Post by torquemonger »

okay, so now that Suzy's runnin, and she's cooled off quite a bit lol , she needs some pipes! i pulled the muffler off and she sounds good (real good) :D but i'd like a true duel exhaust without having hit up a muffler shop or buy headers, etc...any ideas, photos, or suggestions for true dual straight pipes would be appreciated. P.S. where i'm from emissions don't mean sqaut!!!
thanks

Click the link in my sig. "hear my truck here". Its 2 1/2" true duals, magnaflows, 22" echo tips & factory manifolds. It sounds good, but I like Flowmaster mufflers better.

hell yeah sounds excellent, but i'm not gonna run mufflers for the simple fact that "loud pipes save lives" lol but it does sound really good. thanks papabug. by the way, love the disco disco in the man cave!!!

I love my lights ;)

Hell, on youtube, I get more compliments on the lights in the shop than I do the truck !! :)

torquemonger, I ran straights on my truck for a couple of years when I was driving it to highschool. I loved it. 302's have a nice sound straight piped. Not too loud & not alot of popping next to say, a SBC with straights. I have half a mind to go back to straights. Matter of fact, I drove to the muffler shop today to have it done. Pulled into the parking lot & talked myself out of it. If I would have had the extra cash on me I would have canned the Magnaflows & went back to straights.

Im not happy with the magnaflows at all..... :pout:

Use 2.5" pipe or bigger if you want a good sounding exhaust system.

2 1/4" doesn't cut it.

I have stock manifolds, 2 1/2 thru dual flowmasters. fairly quiet idle but good sound when you hit the gas. a friend of mine has a 70 f100 390 with straight pipes and really doesnt sound good. small blocks sound much better with no mufflers.
