The frame and crossmember will be drilled for the perches that support every engine that was available when the frame was manufactured. Since both the I6 and the FE were available when your truck was manufactured, all necessary mounting holes will be in place. Yes, you will have to move them to a different set of holes, but all holes are already there for you. No drilling required whatsoever. Whoever told you that you'd have to drill holes anywhere to mount an I6/FE perch is wrong.

The only time you'll have to drill new holes is when mounting a small-block with the correct small-block perches into a early-'69 and earlier frame. Since the 302 wasn't available until mid-'69, frames that were manufactured prior to that are not drilled for it, though all frames manufactured since mid-'69 do have the correct small-block perch mounting holes.

Hope that clears things up.

So my 360 will bolt in perfectly on the I6 mounts, and the I6 mounts are identical to the 360 mounts and they use the same mounting holes. Is that right?

Yes...they're the exact same piece. Same part number.

No! You WILL have to move them to a different set of pre-existing holes.

So when I put in my 360 I'll use my 360 mounts and put them in a different set of pre-existing holes. It doesn't say anything about different holes for different mounts in the tech section.

yes if you have a saginaw power steering box use the perches to match the box. if nto just use the l6/fe perches that you have.
