That is sad, especially if the drunk's insurance company will try to stiff you!
I'd try to get a 1-800-attorney on your side to get your bumps worth.

Good thing the drunk didn't hurt anyone.

The nice thing is that your truck is salvageable.

A furball rear-ended my truck at a stoplight and the judge awarded me $8800 to fix my truck.

This is what happens to a 2007 Mazda6 when it's drunk owner slams it into a parked Bump at high speed. You can see my green paint on his hood.. the car went under my truck as it turns out, that's how he pushed it forward, rear tires off the ground for a second it would've rolled forward pretty easily..

what a burn man..sorry to hear about the accident and good luck on the settlement hold out for the most..find ads in the classifieds or online to show the insurance company what it would cost to replace the vehicle if they decide to total it out..been in quite a few accidents myself and found that the other listings bring up their settlement amount quite a bit..

My cousin was moving to Texas from Indiana and I invited him to stay at my house until they found a place. The night He got into town a drunk woman with baby in a car seat came down the street and slammed into his mini van. The front passenger tire of the mini van jumped the curb and ended up on the sidewalk. The lady's car ended up upside down in the middle of the street. She and her baby were ok thank God.

about 10-20 years ago my grandmother, on her way home from 8:00 a.m. mass in her '64 Biscayne got hit by another car. She drove her chevy home and the other car was towed away...

Welcome, that is a sad story about your truck. My 71 F100 got t-boned by a lady that ran a read light about 6 years ago. Of all of the 30 or so that saw it nobody stepped up to say what happened. I ended up fixing mine and she hers. I replaced a steering box, left I beam, fender and door. She replaced both air bags on a 2*** Ford explorer, hood radiator, AC condenser, both fenders and probably both doors. lol
They are tough trucks. When my dad was still driving my truck and it had the old style step bumper on back we were rear ended by a VX bug running about 25-30. He never hit his brakes. Pushing in the left side of our bumper enough to dent the bed but if that Bug was not totaled I would be surprised.
The guy was a drunk driver. Hold out for all you can get. Make him pay through his nose or at least his insurance. I drink some beer but one thing I don't do is get behind the wheel. I can't drink one beer and drive since I am a conceal carry permit holder in NC. You can't have ANY in you system.
Good luck and use the money to make yourself a nice tool truck
