This is what happens when you don't stay in touch. I've been gone to long, and it's been a few months since Allan was lost, leaving me feeling, well, I don't know..a bit too self absorbed, regardless of the issues I've faced over the last year or so.
As one of the few on this board who had the pleasure of meeting Allan, and touring the "workshop" that the old school bus had become as he was busy restomodding it, it's pretty profound knowing he's not here anymore. That project was a lot of fun for him, even with the frustration he sometimes felt at not being able to readily find parts for it (they are pretty rare!)
A man with a very kind heart and always a welcoming smile, we met at his place and chatted more than once about this part or that, this project or that, how the layout of the bus was going, bike tours he or I had been on at one time or another (we're both avid motorcyclists) and various other adventures (or MISadventurers, as the case can sometimes be

) that we had each been on at one time in our lives.
Our conversations too few, but the memories will be long. You will be missed, Allan.
My sincerest condolences to you and your family, Mike.
