Re: 64 f100 unibody

Welcome to our site.
It's a lot of work to shorten a regular bed , A unibody would be a lot more work.
Anything is possible but it depends on your skills , and/ or your cash flow.
If you're going to plan on paying a body shop, you'd money ahead to get a solid short box.

FYI Ford only built unibody trucks from 1961 to 1963. The grilles and the VIN are the giveaway for these pickups. Also want to check for cracks on the lower rear of the door windows to box metal. Good Luck with your project, keep us informed.

Yes Sorry it is a 63
, Im now thinking it would be cool to keep the stock frame and leave the straight 6 in her but still give it the hot rod stance. What front ends are guy putting in them if your keeping the stock frame rails?

Re: 64 f100 unibody
I owned a '63 and it was a Mercury long box custom cab, 292 Y block V8 and 3 on the tree. Decent truck, old school straight front axle and seemed to take me where I had to go and not bad in cold weather either. I have never had any experience in switching out front ends but on this forum there are lots of handy guys who could give you good info in that regard. I think you may have to remove everything from the cab forward to accomplish the stance you desire. I'm assuming your straight six is the 223 cubic inch and Holley single barrel carb. I still have a cylinder head for that engine from one that was here years ago in a '57 Ford F100.

Has anyone had any experience ordering the floor pans or any other product from LMC Trucks. Just wondering if they are good quality.

Personally, I would stick with Carolina Classics, Dennis Carpenter, or Flashback F100s
