coolant leaks

On my son's '67 F100 (352 w/auto) if you install a radiator cap and build up pressure after about 15 mins
(temp is about 190) it starts blowing white smoke from burning prestone instead of gasoline. Question -
do Fords circulate coolant through the intake manifold like "The "C" word" engines do or not? Are we
talking leaky intake manifold gaskets or leaky head gaskets here?

To an extent, yes, they do. At least in that the cross over is the front of the intake. Worth checking further, so wait for some more responses. Some good folks here.

yes it does sound like a bad intake or head gasket or maybe a cracked head. do you get bubbles in the radiator when the cap is off and its running when warmed up?

No radiator bubbles - what would that indicate if we did? I've seen a cavitating water pump cause bubbles but what else do you think would do that?

Pull the plugs and see if any are steam cleaned (especially the plugs on the 4 corners, near the intake water jackets), this may indicate a compromised intake gasket pulling coolant into an intake port.

You can also use a compression tester and hook an air hose to it to pressurize the cylinder to see if the head gasket is blown. Is it bubbling while running or just blowing white smoke?

bubbles in the water mean it is getting compression gases in the water jackets.

Just blowing white smoke after temp and pressure up to snuff - plan to get Jesse a compression tester for his birthday in June
along with a dwell/tach meter
