another FE interchange question

Post by flatblack »

i was at a swap meet this weekend and picked up a set of ford unknown pistons for $10 they have stamped 40 for 40 over, i thought i cant go wrong for $10, now im finding out by bore and pin diameter 4.090 - .040 = 4.050, and pin diameter is .975. heres my question, obviously these belong to 3 FE engines ford made...the 360, 390, and the 410.... now my question, do all these engines have the same pistons and different rods or crank, or all the same rods and different pistons? if it is a 1 off piston what do i have to measure to find out?

the 360 pistons have a full skirt on them. 360 390 and 410 all use the same bore. the rest is all in the rods and cranks used with them. i have no idea if those are the pictons for an fe though. that is your call.
