will fel-pro ms90103-1 intake gaskets be fine for a stock 1970 302? also, should i throw away the end rubbers and silicone the ends? if so, which sealant should i use? set up time before installation? etc.
any advice would be appreciated.

Re: gasket recommendations
Use the end seals and put the Right Stuff on the all the sealing areas and no setup time. I am not going to use Fel Pro unless I can get made in America ones. Made in China junk is getting old.

Re: gasket recommendations
btw, if you get back in here do you happen to know the torque specs for the intake bolts off the top of your head? i only have the 68 manuals and they don't cover windsors. thanks for your help.

Re: gasket recommendations
I am not sure but a 10 ftlb then a 20 ftlb x pattern will do wonders. Considering aluminum and iron manifolds are equally fragile. I went to edelbrock and looked up the aluminum numbers.

Re: gasket recommendations
the ends seals can differ from set to set. if they are the plastic type of rubber seals don't use silicone with them. it wont stick to the plasticy rubber material of them. if they are cork clean the surface with a oil free cleaner. brake parts cleaner coems to mind. tehn put down a layer of silicone. stick the end seals to the silicone. i then took my intake to head gaskets and sealed thenm to the head with weather strip adhesive. i let it all set up overnight. in the morning i took and put silicone on top of the cork end gaskets. and in the corners where the side and end gaskets meet. yo umust do that with either type of end seal you have anyway. then i was very careful to lower the intake onto the block takign breaks and settign the intake ontop of the rockers as i resituated myself. once it was on i knew nothing had slipped because it had dried over night. except for the last coating of silicone i just put on. i cleaned off the excess to make it look good after i botled down the intake. i didnt torque it. i just made it tight with my hands and ratchet. it never gave me trouble since the install. several years ago. maybe in 1993/4 i did this.

Re: gasket recommendations
I finally replaced my intake manifold this month. I used the gasket kit that came from Jeg's. I used the cork end seals with blue silicone RTV on the top and bottom. I used high tack gasket sealer on both sides of the gaskets to cement them in place and provide a good seal. Make sure you put LOTS of extra RTV in the corners where the cork meets the manifold gasket!
Also, don't forget to install the short (2" long) hose for the thermostat bypass when you re-install the manifold. I forgot to do this and then had to take the water pump off in order to install this really short hose.
EDIT: I just realized you're doing a 302W and I did a 360FE. So I'm not sure how much of this applies.
