Anyone have experience with the Milodon 14500 cheater gear drive for the FE?

There is nothing cheater about it. In racing Cheater means looks stock is not stock performing.

Pretty pricey for something that unless you are turning 7000 rpm won't help any more than a high end double roller chain with billet gears.

I have run Gear drives and only on racers. They are noisy, costly and add a lot of small metal particles to your oil during break in if you don't fine hone the ends of the gear teeth.

It is expensive. As far as the noise goes....I like the pro-street whine of a gear drive. Of course, the performance Im not too worried about. Its like adding custom wheels to the truck...they dont roll any better than the stock wheels, but they sure look nice.

I prefer my daily driver to be quiet all but the exhaust ands I still don't go for the louder pipes. For Weekend warrior then solid clatter, gear drive noise, blower whine, thin wall header tick is all fine and dandy. Wait until you get a hotty from the park to jump in for a ride. Then that external noise becomes too much for her and the hotty becomes a no body.

 My wife would glad to hear that! It may not be something thats very realistic, I thought it would be more for show (sound). I didnt think this series of gear drive was that loud.
