360 Stock/Typical Push Rod Length

Post by 70F250CamperSpecial »

70 F250 360

I have a couple of push rods to replace. What is the stock/typical length? NAPA shows the following lengths:

9.56
9.621
9.68
9.59 (from change level 11 - ????)

Thanks, Rob

I think it is 9.62 so a over tall lifter can go down one but a low lifter can be adjusted up two. Go with an adjustable set of Push rods

Yep adjustable push-rods. You can use them for hydraulic or budget solid lifer conversions.

Here I thought they were just for checking push rod length and valvetrain geometry. Did not know they made other kinds that are meant to be ran in a motor.l

Nope the fastest way to convert an FE or any stop shoulder lifter setup. The problem is for racing they add weight to the push rod so for 6500 rpm motors and up they are a bad choice. For 5000 rpm motors they are great. One way past the higher valve train weight is to use a stronger valve spring.
