302 Engine Color

I have a 69 f-100 with a 302 the value covers are painted red. Not sure about the block. My son say that the engine is painted blue. I say the whole engine is painted red. Which one is right so when I tear it down I can paint it the original color. Thank you for any info that you can pass along.

Should be blue. I'd recommend painting any engine a darker color as light colors look bad in no time flat. Good colors under ford hoods are dark Ford blue or low/semi gloss black.

That is probably the color I was thinking about. Matches engine colors around early 70's

i got to thinking red and blue make purple. isnt purple fo royalty?

Why yes, purple is the color of royalty, and would look cool under the hood in my opinion.
