A/C hose connection

Post by HH Henderson »

I am having a problem getting a good connection on the pipe from evaporator core to the receiver. The pipe has 2 O Rings and it will not push in good enough to get a firm connection. Where does the garter spring go? Inside the pipe or next to the O Rings? a diagrahm would be great. Thanks This is a 1997 Ford F150.

My books don't mention the spring the O-rings must be lubricated with Compressor Oil (PAG)

The collar behind the "O" rings. Put the spring INSIDE this collar. When you push the outer section (the other tube) over the "O" rings, push it all the way to the back of the collar and the spring will lock over the edge of the tube.
