Post by warponyxlt »

any one know of a way to delete the fuel filter housing on a 99 7.3 power stroke engine using an aftermarket filter assembly or a good website with a write up on the subject lets just say it might be put in a bump 4x4

I have not really looked into deleting the stock filter myself but you could look into a fass fuel system or similar which I believe also has a good fuel filtering system in it. From there on I would not know what else would be involved in the delete.

I don't know of any sites for fuel filter systems but you can check out http://www.thedieselstop.com/ forums and see what they have to say over there. They would be more knowlegeble about those kind of motors.

This kit was on my truck. It didn't eliminate the stock housing but you did take out the stock filter.

bump or dent with 7.3 6spd divorced t case 4x4 3/4 ton or 1ton older truck that could pull a mountain and what ever else needs movin. I went diesel but still love the sound of gas engine dual exhaust over the choppy whistle a diesel makes but the turbo sound in the cab is okay. just want something different that will last a long time

Is there room for a 6 speed and divorced t-case? I mean, I've used the ZF 6 speeds from PSD's behind Cummins engines in older Fords and I went mated t-case as I couldn't see how I'd get a 2" long center driveshaft to work. The 6 speeds are BIG. The floorpan must be cut out or a big body lift added.

I think it would be cool if you really thought it out and got everything to fit good. The only way I'd do a 7.3 would be if I ran across an 8 cylinder p pump. If I had one I'd have no choice but find a 7.3 PSD, gut the funky fuel system and electronics off and adapt the P7100 to it. I think that'd make for a pretty cool setup in an old Ford or Binder. I just can't get past all the electronics needed to run a PSD.
