I was debating leaving a stock 352 with 66,000 miles on it in my truck or switching out to a Cleveland. Well that decision has been decided now: The cruisematic went out so I took it out to replace it with a C6, so in the process I went ahead and took the motor out to clean it up and repaint it and doll it up a litte bit. I was going to put headers on it that I ordered, so after I got it cleaned up, I was taking the old rusty exhaust manifolds off and as usual I broke about half the bolts off in the head. There wasnt a big deal that Vice grips couldnt handle, so I took out all of them but one, it broke again flush with the head, so I took and drilled a hole for a bolt extractor to remove it, and did the worst thing possible, I broke the extractor off in the bolt too. I pecked and chipped and finally broke the top of the ear off the exhaust port ruining the head. Now I have to replace the head with another one, which I will have to probably put both on to match to get the motor back to where I began. I wouldnt worry too much about it, but this is a really tight and good motor.
My question is, What all types of heads will interchange to put me back to where I was and still have a fairly stock motor?

the 352 head will have numbers on it. it could be like C6ae i think. any head that is a 352 360 390 marked C6AE or C8AE or D2Ae will work. there are more numebrs that will work. the closer to the number that you are removing the better really. the D2 heads are more leaning toward smog and emissions.
i suppose you could weld that ear back on though.

I could weld that external part and never have a problem with it. Port side and all.

Ive got a feeling you tried removing those bolts with the block cold, you should always warm the area some with a torch,Dont nuke it,just heat them up a little, its always worked for me.even on the infamous XR250 frozen swingarm bolt.
