I tried that dragon, i moved 1-2, and 1-3, it didn't move at all. What do you mean by idle speed? Rpm? I get about 600rpm in gear. I checked the lifters, they freely slid up and down. I havent done any of the other stuff. Ill do that tomorow. Thanks dragon.

You are a little low in gear. So the miss is on Number one. Then a compression check on 1 is all you need to do as a start.

Alright, I dont have any money left to pick up a compression tester. But can I safely drive my truck? It won't cause any damage? It will take another week or 2 till i have some money. Well the idle is also low, or could be. I run about 900 curb parked idle, and about 6-700 in gear idle.

You can drive it. All that might show up is damage from the gas flooding the pan and now is better than 200 miles from home.

With my tired cam and valve train I log over 300 a week at times and sometimes 250 a day. No telling what we will do with these old trucks

I retorqued and it did nothing as suspected. The only other thing I can do is put a new plug in and see if that does the trick. Otherwise its one of the valves.

Found my problem, I i checked all spark plugs except number 1, mistake. Checked number 1 today, the gap was way off, it was almost touching itself. So i had another plug in the garage i put on. No miss anymore, thanks for everyone who helped. I'm glad it was something simple this time. The one thing you forget to check, and its that what bites you in the butt.

I know, my truck runs as smooth as my dads 99 chevy. I love it, i have unmatched mufflers though, im going to have to match the other side with another thrush. Otherwise going to blow something with uneven back pressure. It should hold on for about a week.
