Opinion - Engine Color

Post by Big Blue 72 »

I gotta paint my newly rebuilt 390. I'm interested in peoples opinion on what color looks better. The Ford light blue engine color or dark blue? Anyone have any pictures to post so I can see the difference?

Personally, the dark blue looks more "engine" and less "something we had to put under the hood or it wouldn't go" to me.

Atlas,

That's nice looking! Is that classified as the light or dark blue color?

I kind of lean towards the dark blue but am curious what others think.

I prefer the darker Ford-blue, I just think it looks better, but at the NAPA down the road they only had the lighter Ford-Blue so that's the color that mine was painted :D. Either way though I think they both look really good.

I like the lighter blue. It stands out better in the engine compartment. I can't say for sure but, the picture Atlas posted looks to be the lighter, or "new" Ford blue. Could be the light though.

Originally they were dark blue though.

The light blue looks cool on the crate motors. But I think dark blue looks cool too but I personally like the medium and light blue. :2cents:
