Would a cam with about 4,000 miles on it with lifters be of use to anyone - free? These appear to be in good condition.

With that new cam I would get some oil with some zink in it, like VR1 or something and follow the proper break in procedure.

Crower cam lube with Moly in it is way better than VR1 or zink treatments. Moly is a factor of 300 times slicker than zinc as a lubricant.

Fortunately Crower sent a small tube of their lube recipe and they also say to poor ZDDP over the cam once it is installed, and then coat the lifter areas.

I picked these up on base at the craft shop for about 9.00 ea. The manager is great and runs a smart shop! Crower also has them for 10-12.00 a bottle.. Pricey stuff. I am just trying to figure out a way to coat the complete cam after installing it?? :?
Probably coat it and then use the lube they sent before installing it..
