core support
enigne
transmission driveshaft combo.
the enitre front axles with disc brakes proportioning valve
enigne perches
rear transmission crossmember maybe the front one
exhaust system should work.
floors and front cab mounts.
ignition switch and complete lock set. you must swap the lever on back of the door locks to use them in a bump.
wiper switch. especially if it has delay wipers
windshield
window cranks
duraspark dist and box with wiring to wire it up.
tires and wheels
rear brake drums if they are the same size brakes.
rear axle can be used if it is modified to fit under your frame (moving the spring perches will do it)
the midship gastank as well as electric tank swapping valve
probabl ymore. but i cant think of it at the moment.

Fords version is called Duraspark.

Yes, you would have to use the Duraspark ignition box with that distributor. There are aftermarket boxes such as MSD that can fire off that dizzy to. Definitely keep the distributor, ignition box, and as much wiring as you can. It is a good upgrade if you are currently running points, or you could e-bay it.

If equipped, save the A/C parts off that truck, I've seen a complete setup go for around $175 used. Or at a minimum save the compressor and brackets.

Will a 75 windshield fit a 68? I would have thought they were different but never thought about it or compared them.

Yes, they are the same.

To confirm: LMC Truck lists the same windshield part numbers for both the 67-72 and 73-79 trucks.

No, a GM HEI style dizzy only has 2 connectors. 1 for power, 1 for tach.

Copied from the auction:

FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH USING THE GM STYLE HEI DISTRIBUTOR IN A FORD ENGINE. IT'S A VERY SIMPLE HOOKUP. THERE ARE TWO MALE SPADE TERMINALS IN THE CAP. ONE IS MARKED B AND THE OTHER IS MARKED T THE B TERMINAL IS TO GO TO A POWERED SOURCE THAT IS ACTIVE WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE ON POSITION, AND MUST ALSO SUPPLY POWER WHEN IN THE CRANKING POSITION. THE T TERMINAL IS FOR A TACH, IT'S THAT SIMPLE. ALL AUTO SUPPLY AND HARDWARE STORES HAVE SPADE TERMINAL KITS. THIS DIST. ONLY REQUIRES ONE WIRE TO BE UP AND RUNNING. USE AT LEAST A 10 GAUGE WIRE TO THE DIST. IF YOU HAVE AN OLD POINT STYLE FORD, DO NOT USE ANY OF THE OLD WIRING, AS THEY ARE TO SMALL, AND DELETE THE BALLAST RESISTOR FOR SURE.

This information that the seller posted is correct, use a relay or solder a 10 gauge wire directly to the Ign. terminal on our trucks ignition switch. Don't run power to the HEI thru the resistance wire on our point style ignitions.

That is a neat dizzy, I'll have to look if he's got one for a FE.

Why not just get a duraspark and be done? Not that expensive.

$50 for one at Oreilly's. Get a module at a junk yard, or post a want add in the wanted section.

Duraspark is better then a HEI anyway.

You can also use the 75's gas pedal assembly with the cable linkage, and the brake pedal assembly.

I'm going to at least try and use one of these distributors for the price im sure i can get at least half the price I paid for it but I think it will be something neat to try since I am kind of new to this. I never have built an engine and this is my first ground up build for my 68 shortbed.
