A teacher of mine had a Chevy Luv pickup that was doing this same thing to him. After a lot of cussing, he conceded to removing the tank, where he found a brown jersey work glove. It would get sucked onto the fuel sump, and starve it to death. After removal the little bugger ran perfectly until he sold it.
