Welcome to the forum Jasonm2131. The 360/390's are FE engines and have a different bolt pattern than the 300 6. The 240/300 6 uses the same bolt pattern as the 302/351W. Now the FE I6 motor mount towers are the same however you have to move them forward to the next set of holes located in the frame. If your 360 has power steering with the Saginaw box then you'll have to find a drivers side motor mount tower from a manual steering truck and bolt it to the front holes for the 300 6. I hope that helps.

Thank you for the info this helps a lot. I am seriously pretty undecided on whether or not Im going to use this 360 or swap it. I am really unsure if the bottom end of the 360 is bad because the oil pump hasnt been working since the previous owner had it. I just found out he never fixed it when I was taking parts off the engine.
Are there any pros and cons of keeping the 360 vs buying a I-6 300 and tranny?
It all depends on what you're going to do with the truck. The 360 is a great truck engine because of the low rpm torque if built right they can be woken up pretty good. I've seen a couple of impressive 360s. That being said, you can also find a 390 crank, rods and rebuild it as a 390 as the 360/390 uses the same heads, block and bore. If you want mileage however, an FE is not your best bet. You can build a 300 6 for mileage and torque however you'll have to change the gas pedal, radiator, exhaust, transmission and drive shaft too.

Wow I didn't know I would have to change the gas pedal, radiator, exhaust, transmission and drive shaft too. Sounds like to much work to me. Looks like I'm reviving this 360
