If you want to tell for sure what flywheel you need, there is a number on the front throw of the crankshaft 2MA = 81 and earlier crank, 2MAE = 82 and later crankshaft. If your block has a one-piece rear main seal, it should have the later crank.

Since it's a Jasper rebuild, I suggest checking for those numbers on the crank.

Rebuilders will sometimes mix and match parts, so it would be prudent to do this before you spend the money for a new flywheel.

First thanks everyone for their input.

Bobby odd you say that because according to Jasper its an upper and lower seal.

According to the shop it's at you change those seals thourgh the oil pan.

I feel like im intruding whenever I'm at their shop or I would be living there while they work on the truck.

One thing that has always bother me about this truck is this vibration. It had it with the old engine, it had it with the new engine. I'm almost positive that the flywheel is the issue. I just don't know that much about the flywheel clutch to pinpoint it.

Ok, because of the two-piece rear main seal you can assume that there is an early crank in the engine, therefore you need the 81 and earlier flywheel. If you had the part number off of the existing flywheel then you could see if it is the later flywheel (causing the engine vibration). One way or another you are going to have to pull some parts off to be sure. Why don't you remove the flywheel? (You're probably going to have to change it anyway).

According to the Jasper build spec the CRANKSHAFT is a 28oz Ext Balance Crankshaft. I take it that means I need a 280z 157 tooth external imbalance flywheel?
